Board of Directors Meeting
August 17, 2016
In attendance: Marty Phillips, Diana Kennedy, Dianna Atkinson, Nadja Karpilow,
Kaitlyn Bunch, Scot Stockton, Sat Inder Khalsa, Michael Nelson

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Marty Phillips.
I. Minutes: 6/15/2016 minutes were accepted as presented
II. Treasurer’s report (attached) Sat Inder:
Expenses: $22.17
Balance: $3909.82
Historic plaques: 7 sold & 3 remaining
III. President’s Report:
October elections: 1st Vice President, Secretary, 2 Directors. To run for Board position membership dues must be paid 30 days prior to election.
Loose Mansion: own liquor license application was approved
Westport High School: sold
100-118 West Armour: Marty is requesting property elevations for redevelopment
Nelson Atkins: Community meetings on campus planning project… 8/23 & 9/21

Preservation
Programs & Events
Litter…It Matters: the next clean-up will be Tuesday, 8/30, 6:00 pm meet at 37th Walnut to clean 37th
Block Party: October 9th, 4:00 pm-7:00 pm, Kaitlyn’s house. She will get permit to close that part of Wyandotte from 3:00 pm-8:00pm. Board will do flyers for event. A motion was made and carried to provide funds for food and paper supplies not to exceed $350.00.
Safety & Security
Michael reported that kids living in the Salvation Army shelter house on Baltimore were throwing rocks at cars. The family was evicted. A police report was filed but no response from Salvation Army.
Neighborhood Marketing
Website: Kaitlyn will take Board member photos.
Historic plaques: 3 remaining plaques.
Dumpster day (trash only): Saturday, 10/22, 9 am-noon. Nadja will order dumpster.
Audit & Nominating
Marty is working on forming Nominating Committee for October election.

V. Old Business
Butterfly garden: Kaitlyn will let Board know as plans progress
Hyde Park playground (38th Gillham): design day is 8/18, de Sion school, 5:30 pm -8 pm. and open to all. Build day is 10/26.
Neighborhood overlay: This conservation area surrounding the district will create a buffer zone between OHP and outlying areas. It doesn’t affect current buildings only new construction. Scot, Sat Inder & Diana have been meeting to define the mission; create goals; establish guidelines.
